DPP: Kissing

Hi everyone! You know me and I know most of you, so let's get started! I think everyone agrees that pilot kisses are hot and gorgeous and bring everything from comfort to passion. So for today's DPP, I'm going to ask you to write a kiss. Just a kiss. Any kind of kiss. I want to see WHY pilot kisses are so amazing, what they mean and how they send us into fits of delightful squee or maybe a tear for the sweetness of it all.

teasing kisses happy kisses friendly kisses of longing and desperation thank-god-you-are-alive kisses face-touching kisses rough and raw kisses that mean everything kisses that mean nothing angsty kisses teasing kisses that promise more tender kisses with a hint of passion kisses of regret and apology kisses congratulations kisses stolen kisses long and luxurious kisses...

You see the possibilities. Go forth and write me a kiss. *mwah*

(And for those who are not writers, how about contributing a little GIF inspiration? Or maybe a prompt or two?)

Very short - I don't think I've watched enough BSG to have their voices down just so in my head.
Kara peered round the curtain for what must have been at least the tenth time that day. She was fine as long as she was distracted with work, but as soon as a task finished she would head straight to that curtained off area of sick bay to see if he was awake yet, and praying silent prayers that Dee would be away from his bedside.

This time, finally, he was awake. Dee was still there, but now that the time had come Kara found that she didn't care. Relief and hope coursed through her making her feel giddy. He was alive, he was awake and she knew how close he had come to not being. Every moment with him from now on should count. She threw caution to the wind and trusted the instincts that served her so well in battle. Even as her brain was screaming caution at her she listened to what her gut was telling her. Swift feet carried her from the hatchway at the entrance to sickbay to Lee's bedside. Her trembling hands cupped his face and she embraced him as if there were nothing and no-one else in the world.

Lee looked startled for one moment, finding himself barely able to trust himself, convinced it must be a Morpha hallucination. Then he realised it was blessedly real, and relaxed into her.

Dee let herself out. Neither of them noticed. It was as if time stood still for them here, where they were finally complete.

This is sweet and romantic. I wish it had happened like this in the show. *sigh*

I spent a good few minutes at the end of that episode fuming that she didn't go in. And another good few minutes at the start of the next episode fuming over it again, but more so, as apparently she hadn't seen him at all. Wasn't impressed with the writers over that :/
